Lahinch Hostel

The rooms were clean, the location was perfect, and Dan was lovely. Our one problem was that the ovens weren't working, which was a real issue since we were catering for a large group of teenagers. A big thank you to the restaurant next door for stepping in and cooking our lasagne and chips. Get the oven and cooker top fixed and it's a great place.

Dan, who runs the hostel, was so generous and welcoming. He did all he could to accommodate us, and there was a great atmosphere throughout our stay. It's an ideal set-up for a group of friends on a surfing trip. Dan the Man!

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the accommodation is fine for a budget stay. The beds are small bunks and the toilets are clean. Showers can be temperamental, with the pressure seeming to switch on and off. Breakfast was okay, with white bread, cereals, and hard-boiled eggs. There didn't seem to be rules about noise after a certain hour. Parties were noisy on Friday and Saturday night, going on for most of the night. If I head to Lahinch again, I'd probably look elsewhere.

The hostel was really nice and clean, and I have no complaints about the stay. The people there were unbelievably kind, just great people. It was easy to hitchhike to the Cliffs of Moher, and we had a view of the ocean. They also provided a light breakfast of toast and coffee, which was a great extra. Five well-deserved stars!
