Leenane Hotel

The fjord view from our clean, accessible room was great. We also really enjoyed the food: mussels and lamb shanks for dinner, both good enough that we'd order them again, followed by a tasty breakfast with great service. We were very happy with our stay and would come back to stay and eat here.

The food was the standout, especially the fish, lamb shank and freshly made bread at breakfast. Service was great too, and the staff kept their good humour even while things were busy. Really nice place to stay.

The view from our room was beautiful, and the landscape around the hotel is incredible. My partner and I came over from Dublin with our dog for one night on the 23rd November, and it was the best hotel experience we've had. The room was amazing, with its own door to the outside, which made taking the dog out easy. Room service was great and so was the food. The hotel was very dog friendly: at breakfast, a staff member offered to open the bar separately for us because our dog is a little reactive. We thanked them but declined, and ate breakfast in our room with the view. I really can't recommend the hotel enough and can't wait to come back.

The best part of waking up here was the view of the Fjord river and mountains from our ground floor room. We were given that room because we had our dog with us. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a modern feel. Even beside the main road, noise in the room wasn't bad. We spent two beautiful days at the Leenane Hotel with my wife and our four legged son. The Connemara setting is breathtaking, and the history and character of the hotel struck us as soon as we walked through the front door. The staff were every bit as good as the reviews we'd read, clearly proud of their work and fond of this elegant old place. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel both days. The food was fantastic and surprisingly reasonable in price, and there was a good range of drinks. Breakfast was fresh and very good too. We also booked a massage on our first day. Brett, the masseur, worked his magic on my stress and tight muscles. In the evenings we relaxed in the restaurant or in the lovely lounge, with its open fire and comfortable sitting area. The whole stay was wonderful. I'd give the Leenane Hotel six stars if I could, and I'm glad I got to see this part of Ireland. I can't wait to return to Connemara and stay here again. Thanks to everyone at the Hotel for making our two nights so lovely.
