The hotel is in a very convenient spot for a night in the city, but my stay at the Savoy was extremely disappointing. I've stayed before, dined in the restaurant and enjoyed drinks in the bar many times, but the standards have dropped. For EUR 270, I found the service far below what the room price should buy, and I can't say I'd return. The room and ensuite were tired and could use fresh paint and refurbishment. The window was broken and wouldn't open, and the room was far too hot. The air conditioning didn't work either, and some of our cosmetics melted. The lift was out of service for a while on the morning we checked out. We were on floor 5, so had to climb down five flights. One person in our party is expecting a baby, which made that especially difficult. Elderly guests were also struggling down the stairs with their luggage in the heat. During breakfast, the fire alarm went off several times. No staff member came to tell us whether it was a fault, a drill or a real emergency. We raised some of these problems at checkout. The receptionist gave a brief apology but didn't explain why they happened, what would be done or anything further. To top it off, after buying a EUR 2 umbrella in the hotel lobby, I got a scam alert text from my bank this morning. Apparently, I now have to pay another EUR 18 because the umbrella wasn't returned. I'd encourage the owners or manager to stay a night and see for themselves how it feels.

The hardest part was leaving. My wife and I booked a night to relax after Christmas, and from the start the staff made us feel well looked after. Sarah welcomed us warmly when we arrived. Our room on the 5th floor was spotless, and the pillows gave me the best night's sleep I've ever had. Dinner at Hamptons was fantastic, especially the bang bang chicken, which I highly recommend. Our waitress was lovely, though I'm sorry I didn't get her name. The next morning, Deshani served us the best breakfast I've ever had. We can't wait to return. It's a fantastic five-star hotel, and we felt the staff cared for their guests, unlike at other five-star places we've visited.

We felt completely cared for from the moment we arrived at The Savoy. Sarah and the whole team went above and beyond, and their warm hospitality and attention to detail made the stay special. We can't wait to return.

We were happy with our stay, and the room was lovely and spacious. We booked for one night to celebrate my husband's birthday. At check-in, we met a lovely young man who was working there while studying at Shannon hotel Management. I think he'll make a great manager in the future. We didn't eat at the hotel.

The restaurant is a real highlight, with a great menu and fantastic food. I’ve stayed here a few times now, and it’s been a lovely experience each time. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and very nice, while the hotel itself is clean, ornate, and appealing. Staff are always friendly and accommodating. I’d happily recommend it.
