Serviced Apartments @ Liffey Valley Hotel

The rooms were roomy, clean and well looked after, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a pleasant weekend here, though the room was quite warm and there was no air conditioning. I assume the temperature is controlled centrally. There was quite a bit of noise late in the evening and overnight from people going in and out of their rooms. It seemed to attract a lot of younger guests. I also regularly noticed a cannabis smell by the entrance. That wasn’t really an issue for me on my own, but if I were travelling with my children, I’d probably pick somewhere else.

The staff were brilliant the whole time, and the pool and leisure club were especially nice. We went for a family staycation and the kids had a great time. The indoor play area needed coins, and we didn’t have any 10 or 20 change, so the kids were a bit disappointed. Apart from that, everything was superb. We’ll be back soon.

The comfortable bed and friendly staff were the good parts of our stay. The shower only had one setting and couldn’t be adjusted. Room service should check that it’s working properly. Breakfast wasn’t suitable for someone with coeliac disease. There was no gluten-free cereal, and I had to ask three times for gluten-free bread. It took half an hour to arrive. This also happened on my previous stay at Clayton Liffey Valley. We’d have to think long and hard before staying again. Being coeliac isn’t a life choice.

The location makes getting to the motorway or the mall easy, with all kinds of shopping and other places close by. The underground parking is a bit of a puzzle: the spaces are very narrow, so backing in is usually the best way to leave room to get out of the car. You can get a voucher at the front desk for the garage, and hotel guests don’t have to pay for parking. Staff are kind, friendly and ready to help with just about anything. The rooms are spacious, with nice features that vary by room type. There’s a good breakfast buffet, a pleasant restaurant and lounge, and a gym very close by. Prices vary depending on the room, so there are different affordability levels. I really like this hotel.
