The Roundabout Inn

We came as a party of three, and one of us found the meal especially disappointing. To their credit, they took the uneaten meal off the bill, which was decent of them. I’m not sure I’d recommend it. The interior looked rather dated, though I’m sure it’s a great pub.

They said this would be Mallow’s first brand new bar and restaurant in over 16 or more years, but it was all a lie, with no truth in it whatsoever. The place is closed down again. It could have been brilliant, but it turned into a complete joke. Staff were unprofessional and wandered around like headless chickens. Service took ages, and ordering food was a gamble: you might not get your order, it might go to the wrong table, and if it reached you, you were lucky if it was warm. It was very expensive for what it was. Not recommended for any age or group, or even as a couple.

The food is unbelievable, the rooms are very good, and breakfast gets 100%. There’s everything you could need, with the train station very close and everything else nearby. Absolutely great place to stay. The pints of Guinness are great too, ha 😄. I’d stay again and again and definitely recommend it to everyone.

The portions are huge, and they’re great for a chat. The staff are so nice that after just two visits they know our drinks, and they remember what the kids like too, even bread and butter!
