There was a small desk, which was better than nothing, and the property had plenty of room and a good shower. Breakfast was just passable. The welcome felt rather cold, the beds were so-so, and it’s a bit far from downtown. There was no tea-making equipment in the room. Noise kept waking me from 6 am. I heard it from neighboring rooms, the attic and downstairs, as well as a neighbor’s barking dog, so I couldn’t get a good rest. The bathroom’s automatic light was bright and disturbing.

Paula couldn’t have done more for us. This is an excellent B&B, spotless and very comfortable, with a great breakfast. It’s perfectly located within walking distance of town. Highly recommend.

The property was beautiful and immaculate, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at the Grove Lodge. It’s a great walkable location from the town centre, and breakfast was delicious. We’d highly recommend it, five stars.

Paula is a wonderful hostess, and Grove Lodge feels like a very comfortable home. We love staying here. There’s easy walking access to Monaghan town, the Hillgrove hotel and a beautiful lake walk. Breakfast is wonderful too.

We stayed here for a wedding and had an en suite. The place was very tidy and just as described, and breakfast was lovely. It’s close to the four seasons. The owners were more than helpful. Definitely recommended.
