Wildlands

The cabins are beautiful, though they’re very close together. We had a nice stay, but calling the place Wild feels like a stretch. It’s a green area between two main roads, not near the lake, and the “forest” walk and fairy trail are just a small patch of trees above the carpark. That may be fine if you know what to expect, but it didn’t feel wild to us. The outdoor play nets cost extra and need to be booked for a time slot. I think they should be included with your stay. The included playgrounds are really poor, just two swings and a slide. There isn’t much for kids under 4, and bigger kids had taken over the junior nets (0-4), so we didn’t risk it. The off road experience is just a patch beside the carpark. Baile beag is nice, but it was also overrun with bigger kids. We had great fun in the challenge rooms, though they were pricey. The main focus seems to be outside parties and groups, which means a lot of waiting around for guests staying there. Paying for every activity on top of the accommodation feels like a bit much. There’s definitely room for improvement.

The cabins could use more attention to detail when they’re cleaned. That was our only small issue. We had a great stay at Wildlands, the staff were amazing, especially in the restaurant, and the food was excellent. It’s 5 minutes from Moycullen.

The restaurant was good, and my kids, ages 11, 13 and 17, stayed busy with the outdoor adventure activities for over 5 hours. It was a pretty good location for that, and the fee was reasonable.

Louise, Ruby and Amy were lovely servers and stars at the restaurant. The service was impeccable, with 0 faults. I was very impressed and would definitely come back.
