Newbury Hotel

We came for a local wedding, and the central location was just right for what we needed. Everything was clean, and the staff were outstanding, friendly and polite. Nothing seemed like a bother. We'd stay again for sure. Thanks very much!

The location was perfect, but the room felt old and there were no toiletries or water in it. When we raised this, they apologized a lot and took 20 euros off the price, from 330 to 310. Still, for a two-night stay at that price, we'd expected more. There was no lounge where we could have a drink, and breakfast wasn't included either.

I contacted Newbury Mullingar about a room for my cousin, who is homeless and needed somewhere to stay until the 28th. On the phone I was told to come to the hotel to discuss it. When I arrived with him, they suddenly said there were no rooms, which contradicted what I'd just been told. I got the impression he was refused because he was a man and the manager had assumed the room was for me. When I challenged the difference between the phone answer and what we were being told in person, the staff member denied having said there was a room. The whole thing was upsetting and concerning. This kind of apparent discrimination is unacceptable, and the way availability was handled seemed arbitrary. I'd urge people considering Newbury Mullingar to be cautious.

The owners and staff were lovely, and so welcoming and polite. The rooms were clean and comfortable, right in the centre of town. We had a wonderful time and I'd recommend it to everyone.
