It has so much personality, and it’s a family-run place. Probably the best stay I’ve had in Ireland. Such a great experience, I’d highly recommend it.

I’m usually wary of B&Bs since I’m from the US and the standards can be hit or miss, but I’m really glad we stayed here. The place is clean and elaborate, with plenty of character and characters. It made a great addition to our tour.

The owners and staff seem genuinely lovely, and the atmosphere is just right. I was disappointed to have only one night in the area. The Waters could be my favourite place I’ve stayed in the country. I’ll definitely come back.

The roads getting here are scary narrow, especially when you’re American and already driving on the other side of the road. That part wasn’t great. Ballyvaugan is a tiny village with limited food options, so it takes a bit of planning, though the places that are there are great, including Mr Kebab. The stay itself was lovely: quiet and tucked away, with loads of charm. The owners were incredibly kind too, even bringing a cake to celebrate a returning customer’s birthday.

A must-stay if your plans bring you to this area. The sitting rooms with fireplaces are amazing, and make it feel like stepping back in time. You’re about a 10-minute drive from a few pubs and a great restaurant with amazing seafood. It’d be a lovely place to stay for several days.
