Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort

We got engaged just before our stay at Druids Glen, and the team surprised us with an upgrade. Such a generous gesture, and it made an already memorable visit even more special. The room was gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the staff were so welcoming. It was a lovely place to celebrate. Thanks for making the engagement stay one we'll remember. We can't wait to come back.

We had a great time celebrating our sixth anniversary here. Breakfast was plentiful, varied, and really good quality, and the facilities were top notch. The staff were so obliging throughout. Thanks in particular to Adrienne and Remi. They made the stay memorable for all the right reasons.

The room was gorgeous, spacious, clean, and easy to use, with water provided and working amenities. But the drainage was awful. Both the sink and shower backed up before slowly emptying, which was frustrating and pretty disgusting. Breakfast was good, with fresh choices and fairly quick service, though staff asked whether someone had served us instead of seeming to know. We didn't use the pool or golf course, so I can't comment on those. The Garden Room was a mess. On a weekday night they had no tequila, so some cocktails weren't available. We chose other drinks, but they came in water glasses, and there was just one menu, which we had to borrow from another table. There was no table service. When we tried to pay, staff seemed confused and asked what we'd ordered. Someone also randomly asked if we were looking for a teddy, even though we had no children with us. The whole thing felt disorganised, without clear management or structure. Check-in hadn't started well either. The woman at the front desk seemed impatient and a bit judgemental, and didn't make us comfortable or explain the facilities and breakfast. For a 5-star hotel, that information should be offered without guests needing to ask. We'd been looking forward to the stay, but it fell well short of what we expected from a 5-star place. I've stayed in many 5-star hotels, and based on this experience, this was very below par. Sadly, we wouldn't return.

The kids enjoyed our one night here, and we'd stay again. The grounds are fabulous, it's easy to get to, the restaurant food was excellent, and staff there were great. Check-in was friendly too, and we got an upgrade. The pool was lovely, though packed, with about 100 people in it and hardly any room to swim. There were no free lockers in the women's changing room. The family room had two double beds, which felt cramped compared with our superking at home. Even after the upgrade, I wasn't very impressed with the room standard. The bathroom needs an upgrade, and the drains were slow. There was a long check-in queue and our room wasn't quite ready. The playground looked tired, and some things were partly broken. Still, we had a lovely bank holiday night away.
