We were even able to leave our tandem bike overnight in Mary's shed. Shealane Country House is one of the best B&Bs we've stayed at during our month so far in Ireland. Our room was spacious and beautifully appointed, breakfast was excellent, and Mary was the picture of Irish hospitality. She has only recently reopened after being closed for a long time since Covid.

The view from the window over the mountains was beautiful, and the room was quiet and clean, with a good shower. The people were very friendly and gave us helpful ideas for places to explore nearby. I loved the fruit salad and porridge at breakfast, and the tea service china in the room was a nice touch. It's an easy walk to town. One of the best B&Bs we've stayed at in our three weeks in Ireland.

A last-minute booking turned out to be such a treat. We hadn't even considered staying on Valentia Island, but Mary's and Jim's place was friendly, spotlessly clean, in a spectacular location, and had an amazing breakfast. We'll definitely be back.

The rooms are lovely and modern, with good amenities, and the proprietors helped us with ideas for local activities. Breakfast was delicious too. Great views, and just a short walk over the bridge to Portmagee. We'll come again.

The view was great, and the room was spacious and very comfortable. The mattress was excellent. Mary was so welcoming and knew a lot about local restaurants and Skelligs tours.
