The Glenview Hotel And Leisure Club

The conservatory bar was cosy, with good food available from noon through to 9pm, and we also enjoyed dinner in the Restaurant. We booked our massages and facials ahead so we could get a time that suited us, and thought the treatment rooms were great value. Rory's travel Club gave us the option of checking in at 1pm and checking out at 2pm, which we loved. The pool, sauna and outdoor hot tub were a great addition to a getaway we really enjoyed. Great facilities and service, and I’d recommend it for a couples’ night away or a family weekend.

The views were beautiful, the food was lovely, and we really enjoyed the leisure centre facilities. Staff were friendly and very helpful, and the stay was extremely good value.

There’s a lot to enjoy around the grounds, with lovely landscaped areas, plenty of parking, and a pool that works for families as well as lane swimming. There’s also a jacuzzi, an outdoor hot tub and plunge pools. The breakfast was nice, especially with those spectacular Glen of the Downs views. The hotel is well placed for Glen of the Downs, the Wicklow Mountains, Greystones, Bray and Dublin, about half an hour away. It has over a century of history as part of the Powerscourt estate, though the building is showing its age, so four stars feels a bit generous. The staff were courteous and professional. The bar menu is limited and predictable, and a pint with a glass of wine cost €19.10. Still, it was a nice stay and I’d go again. Three and a half stars seems fair.

We booked at the last minute and were glad we did. The Woodland Restaurant impressed us, from the food and staff to the spotless table and clean menus and cutlery. The care with details stood out. Our bedroom was a bit cold, but reception responded immediately and brought us an oil heater. The service was consistently five star throughout the hotel. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.
