Ballycannon Lodge

The room was huge, with a comfortable bed, a spot to work, and plenty of sockets. I slept right through, which is unusual for me. The lodge itself is lovely, and it’s in a beautiful part of the country. I was there for one night on a work trip and got dinner suggestions as soon as I arrived. You do need to drive for a decent meal, but I went to Neville’s on the Cross and enjoyed the food. The portions were enormous, and it was clearly popular. Breakfast at the garden centre next door was great too, with a varied menu, fair prices, and friendly service. If I’m back in the area with my other half, I’d stay here again.

Mary was a friendly, attentive host, and I had plenty of room to park. The room was clean and spacious, and I slept really well. Breakfast at the café next door was excellent. I didn’t have time to look around the garden centre, but it seemed great, with everything from children’s books to Christmas decorations. I’ll have to come back soon!

It was a quiet place to stay on our road trip, and the beds were comfortable. My husband, daughter, and I absolutely loved it. The accommodation was very clean, and everything was fantastic. Thanks again for having us. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay.

The rooms were spacious and clean, but about half of them face the main road. Ask for a quieter side and hope they remember your request. The place feels unfriendly and unaccommodating, and I found it greedy. It’s in the middle of nowhere, so book only if you’re prepared to drive for food. Breakfast isn’t included, and there’s nowhere in the room or lobby to make tea or coffee.
