Boyne House Slane

The breakfast was a real highlight, with fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, muffins, plenty of choices, and one of the best fry-ups I’ve had. Our room at Boyne House was enormous and beautifully decorated, and the bathroom was just as spacious and first class. We were there for a three-day wedding at Tankardstown House, spending two nights there and the night before at Boyne House Slane. My one complaint is that the bedroom carpets badly needed a deep clean. I run a carpet cleaning business, so I know how much clean, stain-free carpets matter for both appearance and hygiene. Regular cleaning would make a difference to the guest experience.

We were in the coach house for one night while going to Halloween events near Trim. The room was nice, the bed was big, and the staff were friendly, but several small issues brought the stay down. It was too warm at night, and with no window we had to open the patio doors, which didn’t feel ideal for safety. The shower was poor and its old head needs replacing. There weren’t any coffee pods for the machine either. Check-in was across the road at another hotel, and that wasn’t clear at first. Having to enter gate codes each time we went out, especially when getting in and out of the car, was off-putting. Nobody asked us for feedback afterward, so I’m leaving it here. I’d rate it 3.5 if I could.

The food was delicious, and the showers and beds were great. We came for a hen party and found the house ideal, with a gorgeous function room and loads of space both inside and out.
