We both have coeliac disease and stopped in for lunch. The meals were hot, tasty and generous, and we were both really impressed. My husband had the curry and I had the turkey and ham.

The vol au vent dinner I ordered last week cost €13, but came with just one vol au vent case. It was basically chicken nuggets and chips with a bit of white sauce. If you're craving a proper vol au vent dinner, this isn't it. The taste was grand with the chips, though.

We were lucky to visit on one of their better days, going by the other reviews. The meals, steak and vol au vents, were excellent and very good value, and the staff serving us were attentive, friendly and professional. Maybe the inconsistency some people mention comes from poor management? Either way, this is an understated gem for a meal in Tullamore.
