We only meant to duck into The Granville Hotel for food and shelter after a disastrous morning, but it turned into a lovely stay. The two women at reception were so welcoming and helpful, and found us a beautiful room with a river view. That lifted our mood completely. Everyone we dealt with, from the bar team to the dinner and breakfast servers, was warm and genuinely caring. What had started as a chaotic day became a cosy, special visit. We’ll definitely be back in Waterford.

The carvery is really top quality, and the service is consistently excellent. Rachel and Saoirse from the Bar team deserve a mention: they’re welcoming, polite and genuine every time. Rachel also knows how to pour a proper Guinness. The whole staff is professional, friendly and efficient.

The rooms were comfortable and lovely, and the staff were attentive, friendly and full of useful information from reception through to the restaurant. The hotel is also within walking distance of places to eat and things to do, including the Waterford Crystal factory. There’s a big car park across the street, and they validate the ticket. I’d gladly make a detour to stay at Granville Hotel again. The service felt every bit as good as at a five-star hotel.

We celebrated a graduation there in October 2025, and had a great experience. There were several Gluten Free choices, the food was delicious and priced very reasonably, and the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. They were also wonderful with the child in our group. I’d happily recommend it.
