I had to book at the last minute, and the pleasant man at reception was the only good part. The price was extortionate for such a run-down hotel. The carpet on the way to the room was filthy, the curtains were threadbare, the sink was loose, and both the room and bathroom were freezing. I know it’s a budget hotel, but the price should match the service.

It’s pretty basic, but you get what you pay for. The best part is the shake Dog next door, where they do a fantastic breakfast, even better than you’d get in an Irish restaurant or cafe. Don’t buy from the vending machine, though, the prices are extortionate.

Really lovely clean room and brilliant staff. It’s not right beside town, but the location is nice, with plenty of amenities nearby. Shops and places to eat are very close.

We found it excellent value for a weekend stay. Like other Travelodge locations in Britain, it had what you need: safe car parking, a good shower and a good night’s sleep. It’s well placed for exploring, with the city centre waterfront a short walk away. The manager, Noel, was helpful with suggestions for things to do and see in the area, and a nice guy. We’ll definitely stay again.
