Riverbank House Hotel

We spent a December weekend here for our anniversary, and I was very pleased with the stay. The hotel is beautiful, the room was spotless, and the beds were very comfortable. I dealt a few times with a lovely receptionist whose name I didn't catch, and she was an absolute pleasure. I'll definitely be back.

The food was delicious, the entertainment was great fun, and the whole evening was wonderful. I was there with the Blackwater TidyTowns group for our Christmas party, and they took excellent care of me as a Celiac from the very beginning. I emailed to ask about the menu, and a lovely staff member called to talk it through and explain how dishes could be adapted for my dietary needs. That level of understanding and attention to detail is rare, so I was very impressed. The person who phoned me was also our server that evening, and was just as professional and attentive in person. They made sure everything was 100% for me and for the other people with me, including some Vegetarians and Pescatarians. I found no fault with the experience, from start to finish. Thank you.

The basic double room was a bit small and drab, so I'd advise upgrading. The next room types up looked more suitable. Still, it's a nice hotel with friendly, obliging staff and a great location. You can walk across the bridge over the Slaney estuary into Wexford town. I'd go again. There are lots of hidden gems in Wexford, so hire a car and hunt them down.

The location is fabulous, and the staff were amazing. The receptionist made us feel so welcome. My only complaint is that the bath and shower could use an upgrade. They're very old, and the shower head in particular is rusty, which takes away from how nice everything else is. I'm a clean freak, so it might not bother someone else.
