Talbot Hotel Wexford

The room was too small to be comfortable, though it’s a lovely hotel and the staff were very friendly. The tables need to be cleaned properly. For example, they used the same cloth around the dining room, with no proper sink of hot water to rinse it before using it again. 🙄

The food in the bar was absolutely delicious, and Connor was brilliant serving us both nights. Friendly, and every order was right. Reception were just as welcoming and made us feel at home. We came as a group of 14 for two nights to celebrate my dad and niece’s birthdays, and the location was really handy, an easy walk to the town centre and good coffee shops. The only hiccup was housekeeping on our last morning. My partner and I went out early to pack the car, and the housekeeper asked for our room number. My partner said we’d be coming back to collect the rest of our things, as we hadn’t checked out. When we returned, she’d already started cleaning, even though checkout was still about an hour away. A small inconvenience, and it didn’t take away from an otherwise wonderful stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit and would recommend the hotel.

Back for my second stay, and it was lovely again. The breakfast was really impressive, the staff were amazing, and the room was spotless and in great shape. The only small drawback was that the window in room 414 didn’t shut fully. It wasn’t a big problem, just a little noisy.

There’s free parking, which was a nice bonus. The rooms are spacious and have what you need, including tea, coffee and shower gel. The bar and lobby are comfortable places to relax, and the staff are so friendly and helpful, always ready to do more for you. Absolutely lovely hotel. I’ll definitely come back.
