The breakfast was a highlight, with a delicious spread of fresh local ingredients. I especially enjoyed the Full Irish while looking out at the water. We had a spotless, spacious Seafront room with a stunning view and very comfortable beds. Walter Raleigh Hotel is right on the waterfront, a lovely peaceful setting. Jason at reception welcomed us warmly, and the whole team, including housekeeping and restaurant staff, were friendly and efficient throughout. Our stay was excellent, and I can't wait to return.

My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable four-day break at the Walter Raleigh in the first week of September '25. The hotel has been completely refurbished and upgraded since we stayed there about 13 years ago, and it's now a top-class place. Our bedroom was comfortable, with a lovely sea view over the park opposite. Breakfast and dinner were top class each day. I tried a different main course each evening, and every one was perfect, especially the chicken marikana. Manager Brian looked after us, and Jason welcomed us on arrival. We appreciated their help and the friendly, efficient service from all the staff, including room service. They made our time in Youghal most enjoyable. We look forward to staying there again soon.

The check-in was easy, and the hotel and our fairly large room were clean. We had a street-side room with a great view of the park. The restaurant was busy, with only two gentlemen working, but they did a great job. The one issue was the little desktop fan in our room. It was broken, and when switched on it sounded like it was about to explode. I'd stay here again.

We were turned away when we tried to eat here recently because it was busy on a Sunday afternoon. That's understandable, and we were happy to go away for a while and come back, but they didn't seem interested in helping us get a table later that day. I don't know if it was because we had a baby with us, but the experience has put me off returning. Customers shouldn't have to beg to get dinner. There are a couple of well-established nearby restaurants with good food and service. They might be busy on a Sunday too, but I bet they'd welcome us better.

We loved our room during our one-night stay. The breakfast was nice and hot, and the girl who served us on Friday morning was amazing. We'd definitely come again.
