The decor is quirky, with a look that doesn't feel like a typical commercial place. I got a comfortable private room for the price, with AC and a good shower. They also have lines for drying clothes, which was handy since I travel light and do laundry by hand. You can walk to the bus station, downtown, and the local beach, or take a lime scooter. For the reef beaches and aquarium, I'd suggest taking the bus.

I stayed two nights in a six-bed room while visiting Petra. The owner, I think, welcomed me warmly, but I only came back to the hostel to sleep, so I can't really comment on the rest of the service. It's clean, cheap in low season, and has AC and bathrooms in the rooms, though it falls well short of an excellent hostel. The location is handy for walking to the city center, beaches, restaurants, and pubs, and there are bus stops, bakeries, and small markets close by. There was no breakfast or towel, and the power outlets were far from the beds. The shower was the worst part: just a sprinkler that you have to hold the whole time, and afterward you need to dry the bathroom floor.

The owners were so friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were extremely clean. The unusual decor even got our group debating where species came from. Loved this hostel and will stay here again.

It felt homey, with a strange but nice gallery-like look from all the paintings and statues. For cooking, there were basic appliances such as a kettle and cooking tools in an outside, partly shared unit. The beds were just okay, but the shower was fantastic, with very hot, high-pressure water even after four showers. The AC worked fine once I fiddled with it, and there was full cable TV. Nice place if all you need is somewhere to shower and sleep. I'd recommend it for two or three nights.
