Really appreciated that they helped my sister and niece find a cab on Saturday night, before public transportation was running.

There were four of us in two rooms, and we’d paid extra for larger rooms. One could fit a desk chair, the other couldn’t, so they clearly didn’t seem the same size. At the front desk, the staff member insisted they were identical. When I asked how one fit a chair and the other didn’t, he told me I needed to get my eyes tested. The parking caused another problem when we were leaving. We’d paid ahead, but the lot still asked us for more money. I called the front desk and waited five minutes with no answer. When I went over, two employees were laughing together. They didn’t respond when I asked why nobody picked up. I asked about the extra parking charge, and they said it was their error and fixed it. The hotel itself was okay, but the staff didn’t come across as very professional. I’ve added photos of the rooms so you can judge their size for yourself. In response to management’s note: if the rooms are the same size, why was there a chair in one and no chair in the other?

Brown Hotel Mahane Yehuda felt like sleeping at a construction site. The noise started banging at 6 am on our day off, and reception later described it as the hotel’s special experience, sleeping amid construction and waking up early to the noise. The hotel doesn’t mention this, so if you don’t open the window as soon as you arrive, you may not realize what’s waiting for you in the morning. The room design was shocking too, and looked to me like the designer hadn’t finished their studies. For an expensive chain, that was a lot to take. I’ve stayed in hotels only once in my life, and even so, I’ve had better experiences. I’d stay away while you can.

The location was the only upside. The hotel itself felt dirty and poorly maintained, surrounded by a dusty, windy construction site. The outdoor jacuzzis couldn’t be used, and even though we paid for a 10am early check-in, our room wasn’t ready until 3pm. They’d also promised water bottles, but had none when we asked. A letdown apart from where it is.
