Ein Kerem Hotel

I first heard about this hotel several years ago, when I needed to visit the clinic, and wanted to leave a little positive review of my own. The room view is incredible, with mountains and sky that are hard not to be impressed by, and the cool morning air smells lovely. The room is simple and cozy, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner are tasty, so you leave full and satisfied. I also loved the magnificent fourth-floor terrace and the kitchen and banquet hall.

The staff were kind, which was the good part. But the soap dispenser in my room was broken, and they couldn't fix it at 10 p.m. I didn't expect a repair right then, but I thought they might have known about it from the previous guest. I had to use soap from a cup, as in the photo. The next morning, the shower water came out brown, then yellow, so I got out straight away. I wouldn't recommend staying more than one night. Parking costs extra, and the hotel has no parking of its own. You use the hospital parking, which costs up to 54 shekels for an overnight stay.

The dining room has a magnificent view, and sitting by the window to look out was calming. My room was pleasant and very clean, and all the staff were helpful. Breakfast was a nicely presented, standard Israeli spread.

This was close to the worst hotel experience I've had. My wife's father was dying, and around 11 p.m. we got a room to rest. We showered, then were called back to the hospital. About an hour later, while everyone was waiting there, we asked my brother-in-law to freshen up. He left after about an hour. My father-in-law died, and around 1 a.m. everyone left the hospital to get whatever rest they could before the next day. My wife and I stayed at the hotel; the others went back to their own places. At 1:30, the hotel called to say only two people could be in the room. My wife confirmed it was just us. At 3 a.m. a man called again, shouting that we could only have two people, calling us liars, and insisting there was definitely a third person. For a hotel attached to a hospital, that treatment felt disgusting. The next day my wife told the front desk what had happened, and they just waved her off.
