Orient by Isrotel exclusive

We were five friends and booked two rooms joined by a connecting door, which worked perfectly for us. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable, and the bathroom and shower felt especially luxurious, with plenty of good facilities. Breakfast had loads of tasty choices, and the staff were kind and attentive to everything we needed. Orient Jerusalem is a beautiful hotel, and we'd recommend it for a high quality stay in Jerusalem.

For a family or couple wanting to avoid the bustle of the larger nearby hotels, this could be a good choice. The rooms are clean and spacious, the staff in-house are pleasant, and the food is excellent. Breakfast and Shabbat meals were delicious, and service around food was great. With a group or mission, though, the experience was subpar. Communication before arrival was poor, and the admin and hotel staff didn't seem to communicate with each other. Problems eventually got fixed, but only after repeated complaints. Customer service and issue resolution were weak, with little effort, and there were charges without an itemized bill or explanation. The so-called business center is accessible only to a select few. Its 15-year-old computer doesn't work, and nobody knows how to turn it on. Disappointing. Groups should look elsewhere.

The standard first-floor room had one annoying lighting issue at bedtime. With all the lights off, the air conditioning switched off too. Leaving the bathroom light on made the room too bright through the frosted doors between the bathroom and bedroom. We celebrated a big decade birthday and were kindly given a 2018 Cabarbet Sauvignon. The staff were friendly and breakfast was lovely. The shakshuka eggs were a bit runny for my taste, but the vegan omelet fooled me with a flavor and texture like real egg. Otherwise, a pleasant stay.

From here you can walk to emek refaim, the old railway station, the city center, and even the old city, so it's easy to reach Jerusalem's main destinations. The location is perfect. The design is beautiful, the hotel is spotless and well organized, and the staff are kind and professional. The food is fresh, delicious and amazing.
