Ritz Hotel Jerusalem

I was a little worried about walking around the Arabic area at night before we arrived, but it felt fine. The Old City is within walking distance, and the hotel is clean with good facilities. The staff were warm and attentive, and remembered us from the first day. Breakfast was good. I’d recommend it.

Jamal cooked some amazing food, and the dining room team were the best, especially John. The hotel’s location worked well for us, among neighborhood shops and stores and close to Herod and Damascus gates to the Old City. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and I loved relaxing on the balcony. There’s no coffee maker in the room, but everything else was good. The customer service was amazing, with staff who were courteous, kind, and helpful. I’d stay here again when I return to Jerusalem, and highly recommend it.

The staff’s kindness and hospitality stood out more than anything else. I’ve never had better service anywhere in the world. The food was fantastic, and the rooftop terrace was a gem in the evenings. The hotel itself was phenomenal, just a few blocks from the Old City.

The bed was nice, and the men on staff were lovely and helpful, including a couple of the men working breakfast. I found some of the other staff a bit standoffish, especially one woman. When our flight was cancelled the day after we booked a taxi, they warned us the taxi company might still charge us because it didn’t like cancellations. That seemed odd, since the flight cancellation wasn’t our fault. The bathroom was clean, but water pooled in the middle of the floor whenever we showered. It was annoying, though manageable. The rooms could use an update, and the Old City is a little far. We took the tram from down the road to one of the gates, and it’s very cheap, so that wouldn’t put me off. It was a decent place to sleep for a few nights, especially if you’re looking for somewhere cheap. There’s also a killer kebab place down the road to the left. Make sure you go!
