The Scots Hotel

The hotel sits behind a wall that keeps you inside a beautiful resort, almost like an island in Tiberius. The city could be one of the nicest places in the world, set on the beach of the Galilee Lake, but religious politics are destroying this centuries-old city. The hotel is close to many interesting viewpoints and Christian holy places. I gave the location 3 stars for that reason. The resort itself is beautiful, with amazing landscaping, high-quality rooms, and comfortable beds. The meals, breakfast and dinner, were wonderful, though not kosher. The staff were polite and very helpful, and the pool was nice, with a lovely view of the Galilee Lake, Kinneret lake. The hotel also has a very interesting history. Maybe the best hotel in Israel. Highly recommended!

The view from the superior rooms on the fifth floor is amazing, and for me it was worth paying extra. Dinner used to be better, though it was still worth having. The hotel staff did their best to make the stay a great experience. The exterior is striking and unusual, but inside the rooms the decor feels dated and the furniture needs renovation. It’s a hassle free boutique hotel.

The meals were the highlight for us: both breakfast and dinner had plenty of buffet choices, even for me as a vegan, and I loved the handmade humus. We spent two nights here with friends and family and would definitely come back. The pool had enough sunbeds for everyone, and the service was outstanding. There’s lots of artwork around the hotel. The rooms were nice, though not large and without balconies, but we hardly spent time in them.

I’d definitely recommend trying the spa. Everything was so well organized, and the massage was carefully done and truly remarkable. It deserves all the praise it gets.
