The Market Courtyard - Jerusalem Suites

Arriving late at night, I called the number they provided for instructions to get into my room. I tried several times, but nobody answered or responded. There was no backup contact or emergency help, and no one took responsibility. I ended up outside with my 12-year-old son, nowhere to sleep and without assistance. It felt unsafe and completely unacceptable, especially with a child. A hotel has to make sure guests can access their room, and this one failed at that basic responsibility. Families and anyone arriving after hours should think twice before booking.

Booked at the last minute. The location is excellent, and the accommodation is clean and basic.

We found the bed comfortable and the bathroom okay, and having the food market right next door was handy for breakfast or dinner every day. The downside was the noise: ask for a room on the opposite side, because facing the market gets extremely loud. The rooms weren’t well insulated, so it was still a bit cold and noisy. The kitchen looked very old and worn, the room door was difficult to shut, and it wasn’t possible to darken the whole room. There’s no lift, though that isn’t particularly unusual.

The open-air market next door turned out to be a real treat. We hadn’t even planned for it, and staying beside it meant we didn’t miss its opening hours. The neighborhood was bright, friendly, and interesting to explore, and in my view there’s more useful activity around here than closer to the Old City. We booked late and may not have had every option, but Market Courtyard exceeded our expectations. Check-in was friendly, they handled all our requests, and David at the desk and the young woman who works alternate shifts were both kind and helpful. Convenient and nice, it had everything we needed. Thank you!
