Hotel Club Ramon

There’s plenty to enjoy here, including the hotel’s own keeping tours and snapling, plus camel riding and a visit to the Alpaca farm. The food was surprisingly good, even on Pesach, and the price is extremely good for a Mehadrin hotel. The building has an interesting Moroccan style, with artefacts covering the walls and ceilings. The downside is that the rooms feel run down, the beds aren’t comfortable, and some rooms have a horrible view. Our bathroom had a clear glass window, so we had to cover it with a towel for privacy. A relatively small investment could make this one of the best kosher deals around.

Mitzpe Ramon is an amazing place, with lots of better options for somewhere to sleep. The rooms here are basic and rundown, like a cheap hostel. The beds weren’t comfortable, and we were given old towels and an itchy wool blanket, even though it was inside a duvet cover. The elevator was scary, rocking and making funny noises. Service was unpleasant. When I booked by phone, the manager didn’t tell me this was an extremely religious place catering to orthodox clients. You can do MUCH better.

The staff were very helpful, the rooms clean, and breakfast was included with enough to pick at for lunch, which makes the place cheaper than you might think. It’s a good location for thru hikers. The building shows its former glory and the great design behind it, but the modern renovations were done on a very, very cheap budget. Think third-world bathroom sinks and showers, nothing you’d want in your own home. One duvet wasn’t very clean, though there were spares, and the Wi-Fi was terrible.

The hotel is old and dirty, and I found it scary to even go into the shower. The beds are iron. The owner is always busy and very rude to clients. In short, stay away. If you want somewhere cheap, the field school is cleaner and has tastier food.
