Abraham Tel Aviv

Breakfast was a real highlight. It was so convenient not having to shop for or make my own meal in the morning, and it was a nice way to start each day. The reception staff were friendly and helpful every time, which isn't always a given at hostels. I spent five days here and would happily come back, especially as a solo traveler. I slept well in the 12-bed dorm, even when it was nearly full, thanks to considerate roommates. The doors don't slam, which helps keep things calm, though the thin walls mean hallway noise during the day carries through. Gentle reminders for groups to keep it down might help. The bathrooms and toilets also get dirty quickly and could use more frequent, thorough cleaning.

The rooftop garden is fantastic, and the people here are lovely and generous, especially during this difficult time. The private room was great, while the dorm had lovely people but was a bit less comfortable. Rafa was wonderful. He tried to fix the heating system and then upgraded me to an excellent room. Thank you, thank you. I had an amazing time here during the alarms and rockets.

The hostel has a range of services and things to do, including a gym and jam sessions. Breakfast was good, and the area was amazing for the price. Our clean room had all the necessities and seemed fully accessible for people with disabilities, as did the bathroom. The windows let in a little draft during the bad weather we had, though I don't think that would be a problem in normal Tel Aviv weather. There was also some machine noise through the night. It didn't bother us, but might be an issue for light sleepers.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and meeting tourists and Israelis of all ages. It's a great place to land in Tel Aviv at night, and the price is cheap for what you get. But the building is old and badly maintained, and the cleanliness was unpleasant. I spent two nights in a shared room, and it wasn't cleaned once. I had to go get toilet paper twice. The huge lounge and kitchen are nice to have, but the kitchen was so dirty that I couldn't bring myself to cook. The large counter in the middle had the same dirt and stains the whole time I was there. I noticed because I went to the coffee station several times. There was mold in both the shared showers and the private shower in my room. Even with a low price and an old building, cleanliness would make the stay much more pleasant.
