Bedweiser Backpackers Hostel

We arrived without a booking after a bad experience at another hostel in Agra, and the owner Sachin let us check in straight away so we could get out and explore. The rooms and dorms are spacious, the rooftop is cozy, and the food is great. Nothing felt like too much trouble during our stay, and we felt very welcome. For this level of service and the good value, I’d definitely recommend staying here.

My brother and I stayed for three nights. The private rooms were good quality for the price, especially for India, but the stay as a whole was pretty average. There wasn’t much for western tourists to do, no table football or group activities, and it wasn’t very social. Nearly all the guests were Indian and didn’t talk to us. At check-in the staff were fairly friendly, especially the enthusiastic Raja Khan, but after that most staff seemed uninterested and rarely greeted us. Raja Khan and the restaurant team were exceptions. The stay was perfectly adequate, so a lower rating wouldn’t feel fair. Choose it for an inexpensive private room not too far from the Taj Mahal. If you want luxury, a lively hostel with like-minded guests, or lots of engaging activities, this may not suit you.

A cost-effective place that feels like heaven for a solo vlogger, with polite, helpful staff who made the stay better. The dorms are generally clean. Non-vegetarian food is available, so it’s okay for families who aren’t orthodox. It’s conveniently close to the Taj Mahal, which was a big help. There were mosquitoes, and that made the AC dorms uncomfortable, though it wasn’t a major issue. Overall, good.

I chose this place for two nights because I wanted to be within walking distance of the Taj Mahal. The staff were helpful and available when needed, and it took about 10 minutes to walk to the Taj. There were plenty of tuk-tuks nearby. Our room smelled pretty bad, so we had to keep the fan on, and it had no windows. The Wi-Fi was extremely slow in the room, so I couldn’t watch Netflix or work remotely there.
