Col Sharmas Homestay

We felt completely safe throughout our stay, and the family made us feel as if we were with our own relatives. We met Col Sharma Sir and his son, and sharing time with the family over breakfast was lovely. The hosts are welcoming, well-educated, and inspiring, and their values and achievements really motivated us. The rooms were spacious and cozy, and the homestay was clean and beautifully maintained. The surroundings were quiet and relaxing. When we asked, they arranged a bonfire and set everything up without hesitation. We played music late at night at a higher volume. Nobody complained, and Col uncle came out himself to help with more arrangements and lights, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Their warmth really showed. I’d strongly recommend this place to solo travelers, friends, couples, or families. It was a memorable stay, and I’d love to come back.

The home stay is spacious, with large rooms, a drawing room, dining room, garden, parking, and tastefully done decor. My air-conditioned room had a king-size bed and an extra bed. The attached toilet had standard fittings and running hot and cold water. It’s in a peaceful, pollution-free, secure part of Defence Colony, within a short distance of the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, the airport, and the railway station. Colonel Sharma, a retired officer, and his daughter looked after guests personally and meticulously. Their hospitality was excellent. Meals and tea were very good, and his daughter personally guided their preparation. I’d like to stay here again on my next visit to Agra.

The hosts made sure we were comfortable with thoughtful little gestures, friendly conversation, and a lot of care. They shared local travel tips and cooked tasty meals with local flavors. The setting was peaceful and scenic, close enough to reach the main attractions easily, but quiet enough to unwind. Our rooms were clean, nicely decorated, and had what we needed. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed warmly and felt at home. It’s a rare mix of comfort, cleanliness, and personal hospitality. A cozy, memorable, authentic stay, and a really great place for families.

Host Vishal and his family were always available and helped us throughout the trip. Their homemade food was really tasty, and spending time with the family and their two little ones made the visit memorable. The rooms were larger and cleaner than at most properties, with all the facilities we needed. One of the best places to stay in Agra, with a real home-like feel.
