goStops Agra (Stops Hostel Agra)

We booked in advance after seeing lots of positive reviews, but I didn’t like the place overall. Most private rooms smelled bad, and the one we finally got on the third floor was only a little better. There’s no lift, so we had to carry all our luggage up and back down. Staff seemed more focused on rules than on guests’ experience. The service didn’t feel worth the money, and nearby hotels offered better rooms for better prices. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We spent three nights here with family. The location is great and it’s easy to get to the Taj. Reception staff were kind and helpful. The kids wanted the Dom bunk bed experience, while the senior members could choose an executive room. We stayed in both the eight bad domes and an executive room, and both were clean and good. I’d give it five out of five and would consider staying here on my next trip. Keep up the good work!

The place is good and budget friendly. The common area could use more frequent cleaning, and the water tasted unusual. I’m not sure if that was because the tank was unclean or the city water was polluted, so I used mineral water to brush my teeth. There wasn’t hot water when I visited, but they brought me a bucket of it when I asked.

The rooftop restaurant has a nice feel, good food and a view of the Taj. Staff seemed to care about food quality and went to ask guests what they thought. The room itself was basic but very clean, about 2km from the Taj Mahal. Staff spoke fluent English and were quite helpful. Checkout is a bit early at 10 am, though you can still use the toilet and shower afterward.
