The rooftop was a highlight for me. In the evening, Rajeev set up a bonfire with great food and drinks, and the whole atmosphere felt just right. You can also see the Taj Mahal from the rooftop restaurant over a coffee, and the hostel is close enough to walk there. I stayed at Joey’s Hostel, Agra for one day, and the welcome felt warm from the moment I arrived. Rajeev went out of his way to help us with several things, and he introduced us to a group of people who later became good friends. He also arranged a biryani cooking session where we learned to make it and then ate together. Later, he organized a Taj Mahal tour and shared interesting details about the place and its history. When we got back, Rajeev made sure our room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. This was a memorable experience, thanks to him and the Joey’s Hostel management, who seem to care about their guests and their stay. I’d gladly come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Agra.

The stairs are steep and there’s no lift, so carrying heavy bags can be a climb. The staff helped with our luggage, though. The place has a safe, laid-back backpacker feel, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. I stayed at Joey’s Hostel for two nights in a mini loft room with bunk beds. It was compact but cleverly laid out, cozy, clean, quiet, and peaceful. I slept really well, and the warm lighting was nice. The rooftop terrace is calm compared with the busy street below. The Taj is right in front of you from the Hippie Café, a lovely place to sit and unwind. It’s barely a four-minute walk to the Taj Mahal East Gate. Breakfast was good, especially the coffee. They also have free afternoon sunset trips and local snack tastings, plus unlimited chai on the rooftop all day. I’d happily stay here again.

The rooms are fine, though not especially impressive, and the good atmosphere more than makes up for that. The location near the Taj Mahal is great, with a fun rooftop hangout and a beautiful Taj view. They arrange nice sunset walking tours and help organize things. The staff are friendly and really helpful. Special thanks to Rajeev, who took such good care of us.

I extended my trip by a day because I loved the people I met here. The rooftop restaurant has an amazing view, and the single room I had was incredible. As a solo female traveler from Brazil, this was the friendliest and safest hostel I stayed in across India. The staff were great, always ready to help, and spoke good English. I definitely recommend it for backpackers and solo travelers.

The terrace at Joey's Hostel has an incredible view of the Taj Mahal, especially early in the morning. I stayed here while visiting the Taj, which is only 150 meters away, so getting there was very convenient. The hostel is clean, comfortable, and budget-friendly. Highly recommend it for a trip to Agra, definitely worth staying.
