Hotel Navjivan by OYO Rooms

The rooms were tiny, the walls stained, and the rooms and bathrooms filthy. We booked through Oyo because of the ratings, but don’t be fooled. It seems like the ratings may be from the owner and friends. There was just one person handling room service and cleaning. We found lots of little bugs on the pillows, so it seemed like a good place for bed bugs.

They made us wait for two hours and wouldn’t let us into the room unless we paid extra. Everyone kept asking us for more cash, and in the end they forced us to pay another 800rs. The employees had a terrible attitude and said, “This is our business and we need more money to run it.” Very disappointing and unethical.

I paid 750 online for my OYO booking, but at check-in the hotel staff asked for extra money and said the online payment went to OYO. I ended up paying another 150. Then someone came in asking for a tip for no reason, which felt really embarrassing. I’ve stayed in many hotels and never been treated like that before. Please take note of this. Why are people so greedy for money? 😐

My aunt was threatened with being removed from the hotel last night unless she paid the receptionist extra. That’s highly unprofessional, and it’s hard to believe this happens under India’s most trusted brand. We book with that brand because we trust it and feel safer there. The owner needs to keep an eye on the staff. This feels like a business built on looting people.
