The Google photos were nothing like the room we got at OYO Hotel Star 71099 in Ahmedabad. It was filthy, and the toilets were in the worst state I've ever seen, so we couldn't use them. We left without bathing or brushing our teeth. There were visible sperm deposits on the bed too. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. I expect the owners will delete this, but if you see it, save your money and help yourself.
The rooms are decent for an affordable price, and the hospitality was good. The main drawback I ran into was that food shops are far away. Without your own vehicle, you'd need a taxi or rickshaw to get there.
It's an average guest house, with affordable rates and rooms that are satisfactory, though below standard. Don't expect anything top notch. Staff were appropriate and customer oriented, and the place works for a short stay. The location is a bit off, but nobody disturbs you or knocks unless you need them, which makes the privacy and safety feel fine. Maintenance and repairs are lacking.
Booking through oyo was a terrible experience. They quoted one amount, then the hotel demanded more on arrival. The washroom was completely unclean, there was no lift, and nobody helped with bags. Staff were awful, and the manager wasn't interested in listening. Don't waste your money.
At checkout, the manager asked me to leave a rating and clicked 5 stars before submitting it. The stay itself was just okay. I booked a 2x classic room expecting 3 beds, but got only 2 beds and an extra mattress.
