Hotel Sunway by OYO Rooms

I paid in advance after booking through Goibibo 30 days ahead. We arrived at 5:30 in the morning with my family, including our two-year-old, and were due to leave by 11:00. The hotel staff said they weren't on any booking platform and refused to check us in unless I paid cash. After about 30 minutes of arguing, they gave us a room around 5:30. Humanity exists, but not everywhere. I'm not an influencer. This is what actually happened.

The room next to the counter smelled awful. I asked twice for it to be cleaned, but the cleaner never did. The toilet was in terrible shape, like a public toilet. I left early for a meeting and, though my flight wasn't until 11 PM, I never went back to the hotel. I felt cheated and fooled. OYO should visit these hotels in person so they don't damage its name. Think ten times before staying here. I booked through Oyo's phone assistance and was assured I'd only be charged for one day because I was checking in at 6:30 AM and leaving by 10:00 AM. The hotel staff still forced me to pay early check-in charges.

The hotel is close to the Airport, and there are snacks, fast food, a bakery, pharmacy, and clinic nearby. Those are the only advantages I found. The staff were nosy rather than friendly. During the night, around 2:00 or 3:00 AM, a fight broke out in the hotel, which was mentally disturbing. The room was much worse than the reference images suggested. The washroom was way too small, and the mattress sheet was stained and hadn't been changed. The comforter was stained too. When I asked for another room, they only changed the sheets and comforter cover. The staff also turned off the AC's main switch from reception every 3-4 hours, so I had to call them to turn it back on. When I arrived, the desk person said I couldn't have my room, though I'd booked it a couple of days earlier, because the tariff had gone up. He said I could pay extra or leave. When I pointed out that no one had informed me, he dismissively said, "There must have been a network issue, so the message didn't come through." I contacted customer care, and they asked to speak directly to the hotel. I didn't agree, but I explained the situation to the executive on the phone, and he sorted it out. Even after that, the receptionist insisted I pay the full bill upfront and asked me four or five times over 40-50 minutes, although I assured him I'd pay by that night.

They asked me to pay more than the price I'd booked through OYO. The staff were hostile, the rooms were dirty, and both the bed and washroom smelled. The wardrobe was so bad I couldn't put my clothes in it. This was the worst experience I've had with OYO, on the last day of my Gujarat stay. They ended it on a bad note.
