OYO 8758 Hotel Swagatam

The location was the one positive. Our room hadn’t been cleaned when we arrived, and we had to wait outside while a staff member cleaned it after we asked. We’d booked an AC room, but the AC didn’t cool at all, and the sheets were dirty. The water from the pipe smelled as if something had died inside, although that may not have been the hotel’s fault.

The AC was the only thing that worked properly, and that’s why I’m giving this place one star. I booked through the Oyo app, but the photos looked like they belonged to a different property. The reception manager said they were taken when this place was built. I was put in room 106, at the far end of a dark alley, and wasn’t even given a key. The peeling paint, dark marks, and cobwebs everywhere made it look like a haunted movie set. The curtains seemed never to have been washed, the bedsheets were different colors, there were no pillow covers, and all the wooden furniture was completely dead. The bathroom was awful too, with tobacco masala spit on the basin and WC, a leaking tap, the dirtiest bucket and mug I’d ever seen, and too many spiders for me to want to look around. There was no TV in my room, even though OYO listed it as an amenity. Don’t book this place. I hope OYO keeps its standards up if it wants to stay in the market, or it may have to shut down its hotel business. If I’m found dead here, tell the cops the place is horrible and good for shooting a horror movie. I just hope I make it to checkout on 22nd April 2022, or see you guys in hell.

No hospitality, substandard rooms and washrooms, and the poorest service I’ve ever seen. There were no workers, so the owner was running around doing the housekeeping, yet no housekeeping was provided during my stay. They checked me out early without confirming how long I was staying. The staff were very incompetent, and I had to chase them like a toddler just to get things done.

The location is the only good part, and the cheap rate may be enough if you only need a room for a few hours. For a longer stay, I wouldn’t try it. The room hadn’t been cleaned, the bed, sheets, and pillow cover were dirty, and the bathroom was horrible. I had to get them to clean it after I checked in.
