WelcomHeritage Mani Mansion

This place feels like an oasis amid busy, noisy Ahmedabad, with a wonderful host and staff. We were lucky to stay in one of the “famous” rooms where writer Mr Mehta spent some time. The hotel's full of history, and talking with the owner, Mr Tushar, made the stay even richer. I loved it here.

I spent a few weeks here and really didn't want to go. The food was delicious, whether on the terrace or down in the garden, and the staff were always so friendly and helpful. It's a lovely garden hideaway in busy Ahmedabad, spacious but still cozy. My rooms were pretty and comfortable for both sleeping and relaxing, one had a balcony and the other a bay window among the trees. It was a great place to stay as a solo female traveler. Breakfast was a huge, satisfying spread, with Gujarati, Continental, South Indian, and North Indian options. The staff were warm and courteous, and it felt more like being welcomed into an ancestral home than checking into a hotel. Our room was comfortable, though some outside noise came in and felt out of place in such a peaceful setting. The receptionist kindly offered to move us, but it would have been a bother for everyone. I wish room allocation felt a little more personal in a heritage property like this. We stayed one night at Mani Mansion. After visiting many heritage properties, we came curious and hopeful, and the place lived up to that. It's full of history and legacy. Old photos of visitors, earlier times, and the building's own changes are displayed in every corner. I sometimes felt I was part of a story that had been unfolding for a long time. The artefacts, handicrafts, textures, and colors reflect Gujarat's culture and traditions. The corridors smelled faintly of old wood and polish, and soft light coming through the windows gave the place a quiet, reflective feel. Finding Mani Mansion meant turning into a narrow, tree-lined lane, away from the city's noise. The tall trees seemed to shelter it, and the mansion appeared quietly and with dignity. I'd recommend it without hesitation, and absolutely return. Places like this make you feel you belong for a little while. Thank you, Mani Mansion.

The breakfast was above average and entirely vegetarian. The rooms feel cool, probably because of the old construction, and they're spacious heritage rooms. They've done a decent job keeping the old architecture, though some furniture could use an upgrade. I'd recommend it if you're after a roomy heritage stay.
