OYO 24187 Samar Palace

Hotel Samar palace is a decent place to stay in ahmednagar, and the rooms are worth the price. They're well kept, with good cleanliness and hygienic washrooms, though the decor is average. The entrance and lobby have the typical Oyo style, with an unattractive entry and an extremely narrow passage.

Even with a confirmed booking, they refused to give me a room today. The person at reception had a very unpleasant attitude, and Oyo gave no reason for what happened, only saying, 'we are sorry for the inconvenience!' I've since found others describing the same experience at this hotel. I wonder why Oyo hasn't taken steps to make bookings more reliable and improve the hospitality.

OYO called to confirm my check-in, and I said yes. When I got to the hotel about 10 minutes later, they asked for an extra 400 because the room supposedly needed an upgrade. I tried OYO assistance, but the response was awful. They kept putting me on hold, saying to wait two minutes, then left me waiting for 20, with no answer. I have recordings of the calls. One OYO representative eventually helped me get the 400 Rs back by evening. Still, this was my worst experience with OYO.

The hotel is in a central spot, with a good restaurant right downstairs, and the price is easy on the pocket. My room was good, the bathroom was clean, and the staff were nice, so I had a pleasant stay. The interior is appalling, though. OYO rooms have generally been trustworthy in my experience.
