Clarks Resort Ajmer

It was easy to relax after a long day in the clean room and comfortable atmosphere. The staff were polite, responsive, and ready to help with a smile. The location was convenient and basic amenities were available as expected. My stay went smoothly and was satisfying, though there are a few small things that could be improved. A good option for comfort, cleanliness, and value.

I had a very poor stay. Room 214, bill amount ₹1035. I ordered food and waited 45 minutes for it; when it arrived in winter, it was completely cold, so I didn’t eat it and left it in the room. I told staff at checkout, but got no action or update and was still asked to pay in full. After paying, I waited almost an hour at checkout just to get the invoice. I also saw at least one other customer dealing with similar issues at the same time. During the stay, I called reception several times for a slipper, but it took nearly 1 to 1.5 hours to get a single one. If needed, the hotel can check the CCTV footage. The service, response, and hospitality were extremely disappointing, and the experience was so bad I’m uncomfortable even going into more detail.

The location is a real problem if you come from another city without your own vehicle. Taxis are hard to get: you have to walk at least 1 km from the property, then wait 20-40 minutes or even an hour. If a driver accepts, they may ask for up to Rs200 extra for a one-way ride on top of the app fare. There isn’t always a taxi or auto on the road. We were also quoted Rs500 for a private cab to Ajmer railway station for our early morning train, but at reception in the morning they said nobody had told them, and the price became Rs1200 for just 5 kms. Nobody seemed reliable for service. The food was just okay, no more than two-star quality despite the Clarks branding. The rooms were awful. We stayed two nights and three days, and there was a pigeon nest in the AC vent, with feathers and constant cooing, so we asked to change rooms. That took about 1:30 hrs. The rooms also had broken beds and tables, no slippers or tissues, and the dental kit only came after we asked. They should at least provide a door mat if there are no slippers, but despite repeated requests they kept saying someone would come, and no one did before we left. The staff weren’t professional and often didn’t understand what we were asking for. Reception requests could take more than 2-3 hours. We asked for room cleaning at 10 so it would be done before we left, but the service person arrived around 11:45, and we had to hand over the key. For what they charged, this stay was unworthy and a complete waste of money.

Reception staff were cooperative and good, and the resort has a nice historic feel. But our room smelled bad and wasn’t very clean, and the restaurant service was poor. We came to Clark Resort for a family holiday, and the overall visit left us disappointed. We wouldn’t come back.
