Alamanda Guest House

Please avoid this place. There were mosquitoes everywhere, the bathrooms were in very bad condition, the sheets were dirty, and the kitchen smelled awful.

The approach to the guest house could be improved. Inside, Alamanda was neat, clean, and spacious, with a peaceful, homely feel. Ms. Divya on staff was very friendly and supportive. I'd recommend it for families or bachelors looking for a good time.

The narrow approach road is the main drawback. An SUV can't reach the apartment, and it's easy to miss the turn, even with the sign at the start of it. There were also lots of mosquitoes in the open area at night. The apartment itself was extremely clean and spacious, with AC in all three bedrooms and an attached bathroom in each. There's a separate common room and study room for meals, plus a working kitchen with a refrigerator, induction stove, cooking utensils, and basic cutlery. Cleaning was available daily, and the staff were very friendly. It cost 3900 per night for the whole apartment, a nominal rate. It's 1 km from Allepey beach and 2 kms from the Shikara booking spot.

The hotel itself is lovely, with great rooms and good staff. It's a nice place to stay if you're visiting the backwaters, but there's not much else to it. Eating places are a bit far away, and the beach was very poor.
