Anugraha Houseboats

The scenery along the ride was beautiful, and the boat was so calming. From boarding to getting off, it was the best boat experience we’ve had. The staff were polite and accommodating, and the food was delicious, especially the fresh seafood. The chef was lovely and kept checking in, making dishes to suit our taste. That personal touch meant a lot. We enjoyed it so much and hope to return very soon. Thank you, Anugraha Boat House, for service and hospitality worthy of 5 star.

They take you through the backwaters out to the sea on the houseboat, and use smaller boats with 20pax capacity for the narrow waterways. Staff were professional, polite, and courteous during our one-day stay. There were good food choices, and they accommodated special requests for infants. They can also share a list of recreational activities, available on a pay and use basis. I’d recommend spending a day here.

At night the boat anchored somewhere quiet, and falling asleep to the water sounds was so relaxing. Our overnight trip on the Emperor houseboat was peaceful and scenic as we cruised the Alleppey backwaters. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff attentive and polite, and the food was delicious, especially the Kerala-style fish curry. A unique, memorable stay. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Kerala!

The boat felt uncomfortable and unclean, and for the price it wasn’t worth it. The bathroom was dirty, and cleanliness overall was unacceptable. Staff weren’t welcoming, and after the stay one of them pressured one of us to leave a 5-star review. That felt completely unprofessional and is also why this place has so many good ratings. The dining area was poorly maintained, with some broken seats. There was no proper cutlery beyond spoons, a no-go for European guests. We had to ask for basics like toilet paper and an extra towel even though there were two of us, and there was no hand towel. AC cost extra, except at night when it ran for free. The food was just okay, and breakfast disappointed us enough that we went elsewhere afterwards for a better meal.
