We had a wonderful houseboat stay, with tasty food and lovely views. The staff were supportive, and the rooms were nice and had all the amenities. A must-see for visitors.

We took a full-day houseboat on a shared basis. They served a welcome drink, lunch, high tea, dinner, and breakfast. The ride lasted about 3-4 hours, and vegetarian food was available too.

This was a complete waste of money. Calling it luxury is misleading. The houseboat only travels a short distance, then parks overnight in smelly water with very few basics. A shikara would take you farther, and you could stay in a hotel instead. Makemytrip (MMT) seems to make good money selling JCT packages while leaving customers miserable.

The peaceful ride through the backwaters was nice, and the staff were polite. But the JCT houseboat was disappointing for comfort, especially compared with the super deluxe one we'd used earlier through MMT. The rooms weren't very clean, the washroom smelled bad, water pressure was weak, and the AC didn't cool properly in the humid weather. The AC was dirty too, and the doors had no safety locks. The room quality reminded me of a lodge near a railway station or on a market road.

The staff were good and the food was manageable, but the rooms weren't nice and the toilet wasn't cleaned properly. I wouldn't recommend this for a comfortable stay or if you're expecting five-star treatment.
