OYO 9992 Panoramic Sea Resort

The staff were very polite and helpful throughout our two-night stay, and the included breakfast was good, though it could have had more choices. There's also a restaurant on site. The grounds and architecture made this feel like more than an ordinary hotel, with green plants and trees along the pathways and plenty of privacy. Our room was clean, spacious, and had all the facilities we needed. The pool was lovely, especially for kids, and the beach is only a few minutes away across the road.

The staff were welcoming and quick to help, but the rest of my one-night stay in this hotel was a very bad experience. The room smelled awful, felt stuffy, and was dirty. The bathroom stank, and the towel they gave us had a hole in it. The restaurant was just as disappointing, with a stale atmosphere and poor food. There is a pool, but we didn't want to get in, so it felt like it was only there for show. The hotel sits right by the beach, but a busy road runs between them, and traffic is constant. A nearby beer and wine shop draws men who drink there. We had no direct trouble, but it still felt a bit unsafe. On weekends, crowds make the area noisy. The beach itself was dirty, the water wasn't clear, and the ground wasn't flat enough for swimming. I'd choose a hotel by Marina beach instead, or another beach in Kerala.

Our dinner order went nowhere, twice. Even after waiting an hour and a half, they hadn't started preparing either meal, so we had to go out to eat. Room service was pathetic, and the staff kept bickering among themselves. A resort that doesn't get food ready after that long is a huge disappointment. Families should give this place a miss.

We tried three rooms, and none was any better. Each smelled bad, and the rooms were dirty and moldy. The place is run down, with garbage around the grounds, and it sits beside a noisy street. The pool is damaged and feels dangerous rather than relaxing. Breakfast was poor and skimpy, the fridge didn't work, the advertised minibar wasn't there, and there was no Wi-Fi. Staff kept ringing the door before 8 in the morning, so there was no chance to relax. With the high price, I expected much better. If it had cost 10 euros a night, these problems might have been easier to accept. Very disappointing, look for somewhere else.
