Arun looked after us from breakfast through late evening, and his attentive, genuine care made the stay feel comfortable. The breakfast was filling, with local dishes alongside eggs, so you could try something regional and still have the familiar option. The restaurant also has dependable comfort food and international choices, and it was nice to have fries and a beer while watching the sunset. The mansion itself is beautiful and full of atmosphere, with grand rooms, a peaceful pool, and historic details that make it feel like the 1800s. One thing to know is that the area around it has become busy. A highway runs close to the beach access and right in front of the property, which takes away some of that cinematic view, though it also feels more connected to present-day life.

The calm atmosphere was a real plus, and the beach is nearby with easy access for getting around Alappuzha. The rooms are roomy, clean, and have traditional touches that make them feel homely. Staff are friendly and ready to help. There are a few things that could be better. Some parts of the property seem old and could use more maintenance, service may run slowly in busy seasons, and the food selection is limited enough that you might want nearby restaurants for more variety. Parking can be tight for a larger vehicle. Still, it’s a peaceful and comfortable place to stay, and improving the facilities and service speed would make it better.

We came as a family hoping to enjoy some time near the beach, but from the start the staff seemed to want us gone. They first said there was no food, only drinks, so we agreed to have beer and began ordering. When we asked for a starter, they said nothing was available and kept pushing us to leave. I've never had such awful guest service anywhere in India.

The pool was lovely for a dip before breakfast or after a boat ride through the back waters. The rooms feel like something from a princess story, and the hotel has beautiful antique furniture.

A relaxing place for a staycation, with a soothing atmosphere and really good service. Everything felt clean, welcoming, and well organized. It was a comfortable, refreshing break, and I’d happily come back.
