The Grantley Hotel

The staff were the one good part, they behaved well. The stay itself felt like a waste of money, with mosquitoes everywhere and a blanket too small for two people to sleep under. I booked a non-AC room but was given a sofa-cum-bed for the night, and there was no hot water even after I complained. The service needs serious maintenance. If you're visiting Alibaug, I'd suggest looking for a beachside room instead, where they offer AC rooms at lower rates.

The location is good, and the rooms were cozy, but the bathroom and service made the stay disappointing. There was a stool in the bathroom that injured a member of my family. The sofa was broken, and the pillow had fungus; when we complained, they made excuses and did nothing. Hot water came only at first. The next day it was cold, and reception just made excuses when we reported it. We waited over half an hour for five teas after the room service man said he'd bring them quickly. When we followed up, we were told room service wasn't available. The hotel itself is okay, and there are better places nearby. I'd advise against ordering anything here.

The peaceful atmosphere made our stay at Grantley Hotel in Alibag really relaxing. It's conveniently close to the beach and other attractions, and the rooms were comfortable, clean, and well looked after. Staff were consistently polite and helpful whenever we needed something. I'd recommend staying here for a comfortable visit to Alibag.

We went in Jan 2026, and the best part was the small local team of two or three women and a bell boy. They really did their all to keep guests happy, and my three stars are for them. The building and location have potential, but the place needs more staff, better property maintenance, proper restaurant service, and reliable hot water for bathing. The hot water was promised from 5am to 11am, but never came, which was a real hassle in the cold January weather. The rooms are small and reasonably clean, though now and then a strange smell came from the toilet vent. It's a low to mid-budget option about a 10 minute walk from Alibaug beach, with other beaches easy to reach too. If you're young, traveling with friends, and keeping stay costs down, it could work well.
