From the terrace, you get a beautiful view of the Nanda Devi range. The rooms were clean and tidy when I visited, and both the owner and staff were welcoming and polite. The food was good for the price, which was very reasonable. I had a pleasant, comfortable stay.

Fraudsters, don't book. I paid an advance a month ahead for my parents and their friends, after being promised two spacious ground-floor rooms. When they arrived, the hosts claimed we'd booked just one room and put all four elderly people in a small, dingy attic on the 4th floor. One side was open to the cold, and the bathroom was outside and shared with other guests.

It felt like home, and the food and people were both really good. Ajay brother looked after us so well and even accepted our late check-in.

The rooftop is a tremendous spot to watch sunrise and sunset, and the homestay is right by the SSP office. I found the owner genuine and humble, and the place was clean and tidy. The homemade food is delicious. Rooms have WiFi, a TV, and a geyser. For visitors to Almora looking for an affordable homestay near Mall road, I recommend it as a must-visit.
