Hotel Chandrageet

The rooms we booked were roomy, the washrooms were clean, and hot water was easy to get. When the geyser needed switching on at an odd hour, the staff did it without any fuss. They were helpful with our bags too, and room service was quick. One small surprise: ice cubes came with an extra charge, which I usually haven’t encountered while travelling. I wouldn’t hold that against them, just mentioning it. We had a very pleasant stay and I’d definitely recommend the place.

The in-house restaurant was a nice surprise. We ordered there a couple of times and the food was good each time, and they have singers performing on weekends too. As a budget stay in North Goa, the accommodation is decent and the staff are polite. Just be aware there’s no parking area.

We stayed here last year and thought it was satisfactory for the price. This time, even though we had booked in advance, there wasn’t a clean room ready when we arrived. The fan barely worked, the basin was blocked, and the doors wouldn’t lock. We also couldn’t get room service for tea, coffee, or milk for the kids. It wasn’t worth staying even one night this time, and we left very disappointed.

The location is right on the highway in Porvorim, Goa, across from Chodankar Nursing Home. The rooms were just okay and the food wasn’t very good. In the morning we spotted a couple of bed bugs, so we checked out as quickly as we could. The place needs better cleaning and maintenance.
