Hotel Solmar Exotica

The photos on websites make the place look much better than it does in person. The hotel and rooms were disappointing as soon as we arrived. Reception was cold, and the woman there acted as if greeting guests was a chore. The rooms are small, the TV reception is so poor that nothing is visible, taps leak and the bathrooms smell. Travelling with family? Don’t expect basics like soap, towels or shampoo.

We booked the Deluxe Suite. The hotel was neat and good, but the facilities were poor. Staff charged us for breakfast but didn’t provide it. MakeMyTrip showed rooms available while the hotel staff said they were full. It’s fine if you only need somewhere to spend the night.

The rooms looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a year. There were black ants, cockroaches, lizards, mosquitoes and dogs, plus brown dirty water for bathing and washing. The pool was also unclean, so there was no usable pool, restaurant or place to hang out. It’s remote, and at night you can’t even go out for a walk. The lights were out for a long time too. Please don’t go, even if they offer it for free.

The staff were very helpful and listened to what I asked for, and I was happy with the hospitality. My room was good, and the place is quiet because it’s in a remote area. There’s also a swimming pool. The outside looks old and the hotel doesn’t seem very well maintained, though the interior was good. I’d stay here again if I visited.
