For a short temple visit, the location is convenient, just behind the temple's west gate, and the stay was worth the cost for a day. Mr. Anil was friendly, got us checked in early at 6am, and guided us on Darshan and where to get the famous Ambalapuzha Paal Paayasam. The rooms are small and cozy but have the basic facilities. Hotel Arya vegetarian hotel nearby serves good food. Sesha Sayana, Bangalore

The staff were polite and good, and Ambalapuzha temple is an easy walk away. The AC deluxe rooms are better, though the rooms overall are average. It's an old building with no lift, just stairs, so I'd say it's suitable for a short one-night stay, especially if you're visiting the temple.

We were there for an early temple visit around 5 AM, but the receptionist told us water would only be available after 7 AM and wanted us to postpone until then. The bathroom tap had no water, and the heater wasn't working either. We had senior citizens aged 75+ with us, yet we were given a second-floor room while the lift was out of order. When we asked to change rooms, the receptionist was arrogant and said they couldn't help with the lift, that it was our problem. The rooms were extremely dirty, with cockroaches running around, and the bathroom wasn't clean. It was a horrible experience. The hotel was extremely unpleasant and dirty, and I'd ask people to avoid it.

The service and behaviour were good, but the A/C room we got had a strong chemical smell coming from the bathroom. The authorities should take this seriously and look into it.

The rooms are average, but the service deserves real appreciation.
